DPPCA Website Policy

The Doon Pioneer Park Community Association is a not-for-profit organization whose primary mandate is to provide recreation programming for the Doon Pioneer Park Community (see boundary map). Our Association is: Not-for-profit, Non-denominational, Non-partisan, open to all members of the community, recreation oriented and community based. The primary purpose of our website, www.dppca.ca, is to communicate with our community members and to inform them about DPPCA sponsored recreational opportunities, volunteer opportunities, programs, events and activities that may be of interest to the Doon Pioneer Park community. The DPPCA website is wholly owned and operated by the DPPCA. With the limited space available on the website, our priorities for postings will be as follows: DPPCA recreational programming, DPPCA information and administration, DPPCA events and activities and DPPCA volunteer opportunities. The following submissions will be considered for space on the DPPCA website ONLY if there is room: City of Kitchener notices, information or administration, especially when it affects the activities of the DPPCA, other advertising of recreational activities or events that may be of interest to the Doon Pioneer Park community and other notices of information and administration that may be of interest to the Doon Pioneer Park community. The DPPCA website does not accept paid advertising. The DPPCA reserves the right to edit any submission to the website for length or clarity or to conform to our policies. The DPPCA reserves the right to reject any submission to the website that does not conform to our policies or cannot be accommodated because of space limitations. The DPPCA does not accept liability or responsibility for any external link placed on our website. The choice to click on a link is solely at the discretion and risk of the user.

For Your Information 

Out of concern for the health, safety and enjoyment of all users of our services and facilities, the DPPCA will not tolerate smoking, alcohol, drug use or possession thereof, harassment, foul language, slurs or vandalism of an type. Anyone who commits inappropriate or prohibited behavior may be asked to leave the program without a refund, at the discretion of the DPPCA, in conjunction with the City of Kitchener’s Behavior-Unacceptable Conduct Policy. For DPPCA participants’ safety and liability purposes, only registered participants are permitted in program rooms during program time. All others will be asked to wait in the lobby. The DPPCA is unable to provide you with an allergy free zone. Be sure to fill out the medical section on your program registration form so we can be sensitive to your condition. If local schools are closed because of weather conditions, all DPPCA programs are automatically cancelled. Please call 519-741-2641 when in doubt. Be advised that make-up classes will be arranged if possible but refunds will not be given

Inclusion Services

If you or your child has a disability and requires accommodation to participate, assistance may be available. Requests should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the program start date to allow time to coordinate the accommodation. Pick Up Policy

Parents/caregivers will be granted a 5 minute grace period after class has ended to pick up their children 7 years of age and under from their program. For each 15 minute or part thereof that a parent/caregiver is late in picking his or her child up, he or she will be required to pay $5.00. The late fee is payable upon arrival and should be given to the DPPCC staff on duty. Parents may opt out of this policy for children enrolled in a children’s program. See the DPPCC staff for this pick up policy opt out form. Children 8 years of age and older will be allowed to leave at the end of the program, event or activity on their own accord.

Privacy Policy

Doon Pioneer Park Community Association (DPPCA) understands that you value your privacy. Our Association is committed to ensuring the confidentiality and proper use of any personal information you provide is used solely for the administration of DPPCA programs. Refund Policy

NO REFUND will be given if request to withdraw is made less than seven (7) days prior to the first day of program.

Registration Information

All programs and schedules can be subject to change in date, time, fee and location. Programs will be cancelled if registration is insufficient. No registration fees for accessibility workers. Register for Special Event and Drop In programs during regular hours at the Doon Pioneer Park Community Center.

Transfer Policy

Requests to transfer programs must be made prior to the third class taking place and will be based on program availability. Transfers after the third class must be approved at the program supervisor’s discretion.
